QBCC stands for Queensland Building Construction Commission and is a statutory body established under the QBCC Act to regulate the building industry. Residential building work valued at more than $3300 must have insurance through the Qld Home Warranty Insurance (which QBCC manages).

Works over $3300 must have a works contract and insurance taken out by the appropriate licensee who has got the scope to carry out those works.

A Bespoke Build is a one-off, personalised building project crafted by Kresten Ramage himself. It is a melting pot of ideas and could be something small like floating shelves in a living space to a timber feature wall.

We take on a limited number of these unique projects each year. Some examples of bespoke builds we have done are floating shelves with recessed lights, timber nook library space, concrete fireplace with reclaimed hardwood back, new Art Studio build with exposed white washed ply feature ceilings and walls with a burnt concrete floor.

Yes, in Queensland you need a building license to carry out these works. Engaging a builder is a legal way to renovate as a builder must take out QBCC insurance for the works. This is a positive for the homeowner as they will have insured works for approximately 6 years.
